COMING IN MARCH

“GENEROUS LIFE”

Sunday Morning Small Group Study

For the month of March each class, from our children to our senior adults, will be studying the bible study called “Generous Life” March is our stewardship emphasis.

The purpose of the emphasis is to  educate each member of the importance of giving back to the ministries here at First Baptist.

Generous Life will help all members of First Baptist Church identify the type of giver they are and the kind of giver God is making them to be.

Join us each Sunday at 9:15 a.m. Looking forward to seeing you!

BIG THANK YOU!

Wanda and I would like to say thank you to our church family for your prayers, support, and contributions to a group of  Army soldiers overseas. We shipped 18 boxes of assorted snacks, personal hygiene supplies, drinks and much more. Total weight of supplies were 510 lbs.

Our son and the others soldiers send their thanks to all. He said, “It’s a great feeling to see all of these care packages come in.”

Thank you for making a difference all the way around the world!

You will discover: fifteen factors that make a great difference in the likelihood that children and teens will remain in church as adults.

If you would like to be a part of one of these groups, please call Bro. Earl at 912-427-4239 or 229-416-7293 for more information.

Connection News for Jan, 2019

Over the past weeks I have been thinking about the past few years. God has been good to our family. Wanda and I have watched our children and grandchildren grow in many ways. Yes, our children are adults, but we all still have room in our lives to grow and maturity in Christ. Don’t we?

I believe that we never will stop growing. Physically, spiritually, and mentally are all areas of our lives we need to pay attention to if we are to grow old and stay healthy. But, we must also be looking forward with anticipation of the great things to come.

God has done a great work in my life. Have I made it easy for Him? At times, no! Has he given up on me. NO! This is one of the greatest reasons I look forward to the years to come. No matter what comes before me, God is already there and prepared a way whatever the circumstance may be.

I remember a specific passage of scripture, which guided me through much of my adolescence and young adult life and still does today. In 1Timothy 4:12-15, I see the past, present, and the future of God’s hand on my life.

1 Timothy 4:12-15

12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech,

in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 13 Until I

come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you. 15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them...

These verses have been and will always be my light in this world.  They give me hope and assurance that what God started  in my life he will see it through to the end.  What about you? Do you have this same hope and assurance in God? If not, I hope and pray this next year will bring you great joy and assurance that whatever you go through in life God is there by your side.

As we end one year and enter into another let us all learn from the past and look forward to this next year. May God impress upon each of us the enthusiasm and joy of knowing him and being a part of his family.

God’s Servant,

Earl
