We believe in the deity of Christ in that Christ is God.
In the Bible, Jesus never directly says, “I am God” but he makes it very clear to those around Him, especially the Pharisees and Sadducees, that He is God. John 10:30 says, “I and the Father are one”.
We believe in salvation by grace.
All mankind are sinners separated from God and deserved eternal punishment for our sin. But through Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross as payment for all sins, we gain access to heaven and an eternal relationship with God. God did NOT have to do this for us, but He loved us so much that He was willing to sacrifice His only Son (John 3:16). Because of this, there is NOTHING we can do to earn God’s favor or gain access to heaven apart from His grace.
We believe that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone.
Jesus says in John 14:6 that “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. Regardless of one’s faith or lack of one, everyone will stand before God when we die. It is there that we will be judged for what we have or have not done while we were alive and whether Jesus Christ is Lord of our lives. No one gets to heaven except by faith in the saving work of the Lord Jesus Christ on his or her behalf.
We believe in the resurrection of Christ.
We believe that Christ died on the cross and then after three days came back to life and rose again to reappear to His followers in bodily form. This amazing fact is what separates the Christian faith from others. All other religions are based on works or a powerless deity or person. The leaders of all other religions die and remain dead. For us to deny the resurrection of Christ would be to deny that His work on earth was a satisfactory offering to God for the sins of mankind.
We believe in the gospel.
The word gospel literally means “Good News”. The essence of the gospel is that Christ came down to earth as a baby, died on the cross for our sins, and was raised on the third day. We are to be on guard of the many “false gospels” in our world today. In fact, the Bible warns us in Galatians 1:8-9, “But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.”
We believe that there is only one God.
In other words, we believe in monotheism. God himself says in Exodus 20:3 that “You shall have no other gods before me.”A Christian will know that there is only one God, the God of the Bible. All other “gods” are false and are no gods at all. “For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many ‘gods’ and many ‘lords’), yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live” (1 Corinthians 8:5-6).
We believe in the Holy Trinity.
Even though the concept of a “three-in-one God” is not represented in a specific verse or passage, it is frequently described throughout the Bible. Matthew 28:19 says “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Many other passages show all three Persons being represented but not titled the Holy Trinity.
